Pocholo’s passion is all about empowering other people – as a youth advocate, as an author, as a voice coach, and as a Filipino motivational speaker. His heart for empowerment goes out especially for young people, which he has done so for over a decade. Now, Pocholo takes his advocacy for youth empowerment to the next level by promoting youth entrepreneurship training.
Pocholo started out as a young entrepreneur himself when he built his own company, Creativoices Productions. His passion for his craft earned him the Go Negosyo award in 2009 as the “Most Inspiring Bataeno Microentrepreneur,” and later on became a Go Negosyo Angelpreneur. Since then, it became Pocholo’s advocacy not only to teach young people about entrepreneurship, but more importantly, how to build what he calls “passion-driven business.”
This led Pocholo to found Negosyo Kabataan, which was established in support of Sen. Bam Aquino’s Youth Entrepreneurship Act (R.A. 10679). It aims to ignite the Filipino youth’s entrepreneurial mindset, not only by getting them to go into business, but more importantly, by discovering their skills and passion that would become the basis for their own enterprise. Negosyo Kabataan provides the venue to connect existing and aspiring young Filipino entrepreneurs, providing them with inspiration and motivation through collaboration, mentoring and best-practice sharing.
Negosyo Kabataan is the home of the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy – a training and mentoring program that taps into young people’s creative talents so that they can uncover their potential, discover their passion and live a life of purpose. The program’s mission is to produce graduates with businesses that play to young people’s passion and skills, while providing products and services that are valuable to the society.
Youth Entrepreneurship Academy is composed of trainers and mentors who, like the VoiceMaster, have created a “passion-driven business” in various creative fields – film and TV production, graphic design, photography, non-formal education, writing, coaching, among many others.
Youth Entrepreneurship Academy runs in 3 phases:
PHASE 1 – Youthrepreneurship Seminar
PHASE 2 – Mentoring and Immersion
PHASE 3 – Business Development
Pocholo has also been invited to speak in various Youth Entrepreneurship events, including those organized by the Department of Trade and Industry, Junior Achievement Philippines, PJMA, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Junior Finance Executives (JFinEx), and Go Negosyo. He was also chosen to be the main speaker of the ASEAN Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge 2017, held in the National University of Malaysia in Selangor.
