The 12th National Youth Parliament was held on October 21-25, 2018 at the Waterfront Hotel in Davao City. The 5-day event gathers hundreds of young Filipino delegates all over the country to learn about parliamentary procedures, advocacy and policy paper making.
An Alumni Night and induction ceremonies were held on October 24 as part of the program. There was also an awarding ceremony for the Pillars of Youth Leadership awardees, to recognize exceptional Filipinos who have served as role model to the youth.
Part of the roster of awardees is Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales. Pocholo is mostly known for his contributions to the youth sector as the founder of Voice of the Youth Network (VOTY) – a volunteer youth media organization that aims to inform, inspire, involve and empower the Filipino youth through radio broadcasting and ICT. Pocholo founded VOTY at the young age of 16, as he was establishing his career as a young voice artist. Since then, it became his passion to give opportunities to the youth by producing radio programs, as well as forging partnerships with various youth organizations all over the Philippines.
Pocholo is also one of the most sought-after Filipino motivational speakers, having spoken in hundreds of schools and universities around the country on various topics such as voice acting, communication, personal branding, and among many others.
The National Youth Parliament is a biennial congress of youth leaders, organized by the National Youth Commission.
